Joe and Seb take stock of a season like no other for Fantasy Premier League managers. After 38 Gameweeks the Covid-19 ravaged 2020/21 campaign is finally over. The health crisis has severely impacted on the schedule and player availability. FPL managers saw the first triple Gameweek in more than a decade. For much of the season they had to endure a slow drip feed of matches over several days to ensure more fixtures can be televised. The lack of fans also played its part, with traditional home and away form often consigned to the bin. While tough to navigate, it has had significant highs to couple with the lows. Trusted heavy hitters, such as Harry Kane (£11.9m) and Mohammed Salah (£12.9m) often delivered when selected as captain. There was also a wealth of budget options, with Leeds’ promoted players among the stars. In this final Scoutcast episode of the campaign Joe and Seb review their own performance amid the season’s chaos, consider wider lessons to learn for all managers as well as answer the community’s questions. For the final time they also look back on their Gameweek scores and showcase the tales of woe and joy in a last look at Rough with the Smooth. For Joe key lessons to emerge include the importance of having a strong start and be as flexible as possible with transfers. While Seb ponders why he often ignored, his team, Leeds’ best players. Joe and Seb are joined by Karam look at the key issues facing Fantasy Premier League managers ahead of Gameweek 38. It’s been a tough year, with the Covid-19 pandemic impacting on all walks of life. Top flight football has been no exception, with fans unable to attend matches for much of the campaign and players forced to isolate for periods. The season has been tough for FPL managers to navigate. But it has also provided a welcome distraction for many. Now, after 38 long, arduous weeks the final set of fixtures is here and Joe, Karam and Seb are on hand to guide viewers and listeners over the last hurdle. The Scoutcast crew take in the prospects for teams with something to play for, most notably a seat among Europe’s elite in the Champions League. Winning is vital and lots of goals will be needed for the likes of top captaincy candidate Mohamed Salah (£12.9m) and the rest of his Liverpool team mates. For other teams there is still pride to play for, as well as some extra cash for final league placings. Leeds' first Premier League home game in front of fans for 17 years, against West Brom, looks particularly enticing. Meanwhile, West Ham’s Michail Antonio (£6.6m) and Burnley striker Chris Wood (£6.5m) offer intriguing alternative options for FPL managers to turn to. More differentials are considered, when Joe looks at his ‘unfashionable players’ list once again, to find further low owned gems with strong points potential. Over the last few weeks this list correctly predicted strong returns from the likes of Manchester City’s recent hattrick hero Ferran Torres (£7.0m) and Arsenal’s impressive youngster Gabriel Martinelli (£4.9m), who scored midweek. There is mixed fortunes for the community in the penultimate Rough with the Smooth round up. This contrasts with Joe, Seb and Karam’s performance in Gameweek 37, as just a handful of points separated them. This latest episode finishes off with the crew revealing their final transfer and captaincy plans of the season. Joe and Seb look at the key issues facing Fantasy Premier League managers ahead of Gameweek 37. The remaining two Gameweeks are special, with home fans returning to grounds across the Premier League. But can their return help their teams achieve season run in glory, or prove a hindrance? Armed with the FFScout members area’s comparison tools, Joe and Seb look to find out how a crowd alters teams play, to see if FPL managers can get an advantage at the tail end of the campaign. Could it be that players are keener to shoot from distance with the roar of the crowd to encourage them? Joe and Seb's research looks at where home strikers shoot from and why Everton, in particularly, are in desparate need of the Goodison faithful. A common theme over the latter part of the season has been the emergence of strong mid-priced midfielders. Jesse Lingard (£6.6m) and Diogo Jota (£6.9m) had been leading this charge. But with form and injury denting their appeal respectively, the Scoutcast crew look at the new guard of value alternatives in the centre of the park. Leeds and Newcastle assets look particularly appealing. Due to the tight turnaround of fixtures there is no time for a captaincy video this week. Luckily, the Scoutcast can step in to assess the best candidates for Gameweek 37. The race for the golden boot, home advantage and defensive trends among relegated clubs look to be key to their decisions. Elsewhere, there’s a bumper rough with the smooth edition this week thanks to Gameweek 36’s incredible turn of events, particularly among those who brought in the week’s unlikely goal scoring heroes. Joe and Seb’s own contrasting fortunes in the last set of matches are looked at and the final brace of fixtures are looked at in detail. Meanwhile,  Seb takes his turn to pick a differential and captaincy and transfer plans ahead of tonight’s deadline are revealed. There are just three Gameweeks left of this tricky, pandemic-hit campaign so each transfer and captaincy decision needs to be carefully planned around those remaining fixtures. There is also the challenge of navigating Blank Gameweek 36, when Chelsea, Arsenal, Leicester and Manchester United players miss out due to FA Cup scheduling. Luckily, Joe and Seb are joined by former FPL winner Ben to look at the teams and players to spend those final, precious transfers on. Our trio break down the season run into the top assets by position, with West Ham, Leeds, Liverpool and Everton assets dominating their chat. Targeting relegated Sheffield United’s porous defence and blunt attack is another key theme to emerge. For goalkeepers, there is plenty of advice for those like Joe, who have two non-playing shot stoppers going into Gameweek 36. Is it worth a transfer to replace the likes of Chelsea’s Edouard Mendy (£5.2m)? Leeds midfielder Stuart Dallas’ (£5.3m) out of position classification as a defender makes him a shrewd backline pick, meanwhile Manchester City’s midfield maestros could be worth investment despite the threat of rotation.
