Empowering Change: The Vision of CCMSA's New Co-Presidents

In this episode of the Las Vegas HEALS Pod, I had the pleasure of welcoming two remarkable guests, Anita Koka and Annette Siefzad, the incoming co-presidents of the Clark County Medical Society Alliance (CCMSA). We delved into their backgrounds, their journey to Las Vegas, and their vision for the organization as they step into their new roles.

Anita shared that she moved to Las Vegas in 1996, while Annette, originally from the Dominican Republic, relocated to Las Vegas in 2009 after living in California and New York. Both women discussed the common misconceptions about Las Vegas, emphasizing that the city is more than just its famous Strip and casinos. They highlighted the growing sense of community and culture in Las Vegas, particularly in light of the recent influx of movie studios and the city's evolving identity.

We explored the CCMSA's close relationship with the Clark County Medical Society, discussing how they collaborate on various initiatives and events. One of the highlights of their year is the annual fashion show, which I personally attended last year and found to be an extraordinary event filled with energy and creativity. Anita and Annette expressed their excitement about the upcoming fashion show luncheon scheduled for April 17th, 2025, and shared their plans to enhance community involvement and support for their chosen charity, the Be A SHERO Foundation.

The Be A SHERO Foundation focuses on helping women and children under 25 who have been abandoned, abused, or exploited. Anita and Annette passionately discussed the alarming statistics surrounding human trafficking, particularly in Las Vegas, and their commitment to raising awareness and funds to support this critical cause. They emphasized the importance of educating the community about these issues and the need for medical assistance for the victims.

Throughout our conversation, it became clear that both women are deeply committed to their roles and the mission of the CCMSA. They shared their vision for the year, which includes increasing membership, fostering family involvement, and creating a supportive environment for physicians and their spouses. We also touched on the challenges they face, such as engaging volunteers and maintaining momentum in their initiatives.

As we wrapped up the episode, I encouraged listeners to get involved with the CCMSA, whether through volunteering, attending events, or simply spreading the word about their important work. I also highlighted the significance of collaboration within the community and the impact that collective efforts can have on addressing pressing social issues.

This episode not only provided insight into the CCMSA and the Be A SHERO Foundation but also showcased the dedication and passion of Anita and Annette as they embark on this new chapter in their leadership journey. I look forward to seeing the positive changes they will bring to the organization and the community at large. Thank you for tuning in, and be sure to stay connected with the CCMSA on social media for updates on their upcoming events and initiatives!
