About CAP Selects Season 6 of CAP Selects is a weekly series showcasing the exceptional work of our Creative Audio Production & Sound Engineering students. During the second-year of study, students are tasked with writing a five-track album from scratch that realises a creative vision. An opportunity to explore any idea they choose – the only limitations to this brief is that one of the tracks must be collaborative and another must be covers or reinterpretations of original work. This week is lace's are you gonna cowboy up or just lie there? Here’s what lace said about the project: moving at a deliberately restrained pace, favoring low tempos, sparse arrangements, and subtle dynamic shifts, songs often hover in a state of suspension before opening briefly into distortion or saturation, stopping short of full catharsis. emotion is present but contained, as if constantly on the verge of rupture.
