Story Transcript:

Sl: Spomladansko sonce je sijalo na velikonočno jutro, ko je Matej stopil iz vlaka na postaji Postojna.
En: The spring sun shone on the Easter morning as Matej stepped off the train at the Postojna station.

Sl: V roki je držal svoj beležko in navdušeno gledal okoli sebe.
En: He held his notebook in his hand and looked around excitedly.

Sl: Pred njim je stala veličastna Postojnska jama, ki ga je vabila v svoje hladne podzemne dvorane.
En: In front of him stood the magnificent Postojnska Cave, inviting him into its cool underground halls.

Sl: Matej je bil namreč biolog in njegovo srce je bilo polno vznemirjenja.
En: Matej was a biologist, and his heart was full of excitement.

Sl: Upal je, da bo prav letos našel redkega jamskega hrošča, o katerem so krožile zgodbe med biologi.
En: He hoped that this year he would find the rare cave beetle that stories among biologists described.

Sl: Na vhodu v jamo ga je pozdravila Anja, vodnica.
En: At the entrance to the cave, he was greeted by Anja, the guide.

Sl: Veselo ga je nagovorila: "Dobrodošli v Postojnski jami!
En: She cheerfully addressed him: "Welcome to Postojnska Cave!

Sl: Danes vas bom popeljala skozi čudesa podzemlja," je rekla z nasmehom.
En: Today I will take you through the wonders of the underground," she said with a smile.

Sl: Skupina turistov je stopila v hladno osrčje jame.
En: The group of tourists stepped into the cold heart of the cave.

Sl: Stalaktiti in stalagmiti so se svetlikali v šibki svetlobi.
En: The stalactites and stalagmites gleamed in the dim light.

Sl: Matej je občudoval ta čudoviti naravni svet, a intenzivno je iskal znake hrošča.
En: Matej admired this wonderful natural world but was intensely searching for signs of the beetle.

Sl: A že čez nekaj minut je začutil nenavadno srbenje v grlu.
En: But just a few minutes later, he felt an unusual itch in his throat.

Sl: Kihnil je.
En: He sneezed.

Sl: Še enkrat.
En: Again.

Sl: In še enkrat.
En: And again.

Sl: "Ah, ne," je pomislil, "to je alergija!
En: "Oh, no," he thought, "this is an allergy!"

Sl: "Kljub temu je nadaljeval pot, a kihanje in srbenje sta postajala vse hujša.
En: Despite this, he continued the path, but the sneezing and itching became increasingly severe.

Sl: Poskušal je ignorirati težave, saj ni želel prekiniti iskanja.
En: He tried to ignore the problems, as he did not want to stop his search.

Sl: Sami sebi je trdno rekel, da bo zmogel.
En: He firmly told himself he could manage.

Sl: Vendar se je čez nekaj časa že opotekal med turisti.
En: However, after some time, he was already staggering among the tourists.

Sl: Komaj je dihal.
En: He could barely breathe.

Sl: V zadnjem trenutku, ko je skoraj omahnil, je Matej potihoma poklical Anjo.
En: At the last moment, when he almost collapsed, Matej quietly called Anja.

Sl: "Anja, potrebujem pomoč," je šepnil med napadom kašlja.
En: "Anja, I need help," he whispered during a coughing fit.

Sl: Anja je hitro ukrepala.
En: Anja quickly took action.

Sl: Imela je komplet prve pomoči s potrebnimi zdravili za alergijo.
En: She had a first aid kit with the necessary allergy medications.

Sl: "Tukaj, vzemi to," mu je ponudila tableto in vodo.
En: "Here, take this," she offered him a pill and some water.

Sl: Ko je Matej nekoliko prišel k sebi, ga je Anja dobrohotno potapšala po ramenu.
En: When Matej somewhat recovered, Anja kindly patted him on the shoulder.

Sl: "Ne skrbi, zdaj bo bolje.
En: "Don't worry, you'll feel better now.

Sl: Gremo poiskat tvojega hrošča," je rekla s prijaznostjo.
En: Let's go find your beetle," she said with kindness.

Sl: Nekaj časa sta tiho nadaljevala pot.
En: They continued quietly for a while.

Sl: Anja je opazila znak redke vrste in tiho pokazala Mateju.
En: Anja noticed a sign of the rare species and silently pointed it out to Matej.

Sl: S širokimi očmi je končno opazil, za kar je prišel.
En: With wide eyes, he finally saw what he came for.

Sl: "Moj hrošč!
En: "My beetle!"

Sl: " je vzkliknil tiho, da ne bi prestrašil malega bitja.
En: he exclaimed quietly, so as not to scare the little creature.

Sl: Matej se je zahvalil Anji.
En: Matej thanked Anja.

Sl: "Nisem si mislil, da bo tako težko, a naučil sem se nekaj pomembnega.
En: "I didn't think it would be this difficult, but I learned something important."

Sl: "Anja se je nasmehnila.
En: Anja smiled.

Sl: "Včasih potrebujemo le malo pomoči," je rekla.
En: "Sometimes we just need a little help," she said.

Sl: In tako sta nadaljevala skozi jamo, Matej pa se je naučil, da ni nič narobe, če prosi za pomoč.
En: And so they continued through the cave, and Matej learned that there is nothing wrong with asking for help.

Sl: Še posebej, ko ob sebi imaš prijatelja, ki ti z veseljem pomaga.
En: Especially when you have a friend by your side who is happy to help you.
