Ep 4: Social Media Censorship - Unlearn Shame & Reclaim Power

Ep 4: Social Media Censorship - Unlearn Shame & Reclaim Power

In this solo episode of The Sensual Revolution, Marlee explores:

  • What is social media censorship and how does it manifest as shame in our bodies?
  • The silencing of marginalized identities that happens through SM censorships (ie. fat bodies, female bodies, BIPOC folk, LGBTQ+ voices, etc.)
  • How banning words like 'lesbian' on SM contributes to homophobia - both acted on and internalized
  • The role that representation plays in self-acceptance & validation
  • How to source self-compassion when it comes to our insecurities and internalized shame
  • How diverse representation can help build empowered, violence-free communities
  • Sex educators on social media and breaking free from the 'one size fits all' model of teaching intimacy
  • Avoiding victim mindset through claiming the power of your voice & taking action
