This week the Game Deflators podcast brings a mix of industry shake‑ups, copyright drama, and retro PC chaos. The episode opens with recent gaming pickups before diving into Xbox’s steep Gen9 hardware revenue drop, raising questions about the Series generation’s long‑term trajectory.

The conversation shifts to Nintendo after a major Pokémon YouTube channel was shut down by copyright strikes, sparking debate about creator rights and Nintendo’s long history of aggressive enforcement. From there, the spotlight moves to tabletop as Dungeon Crawler Carl’s Kickstarter blows past $6M, and Magic: The Gathering hits two milestones: Strixhaven becomes the biggest prerelease event ever, and the MTG Online team officially unionizes.

Sony enters the mix as players report new PlayStation online license checks, though the company quickly works to calm concerns. The episode wraps with a retro PC classic as the Inflation Deflation Game of the Week revisits Sam & Max Hit the Road.
