JHGC in Conversation with Professor Alexander Hinton about the genocide in Cambodia Part 2

Hello everyone and welcome back to this part two of my conversation with Prof Alexander Hinton about the Cambodian genocide. Just to remind you, (between 1975 and 1979), the Cambodian Genocide saw between 1.5 and 3 million people killed at the hands of the Khmer Rouge, a communist political group. The Khmer Rouge had taken power in the country following the Cambodian Civil War. During their brutal four-year rule, the Khmer Rouge was responsible for the deaths of nearly a quarter of Cambodians. Professor Alexander Hinton has written extensively on the Cambodian genocide and, in 2016, was an expert witness at the Khmer Rouge Tribunal. Date of recording : 12 December 2023 Guest : Prof Alexander Hinton : global.rutgers.edu/cghr Interviewer: Mdu Ntuli: mduduzi@jhbholocaust.co.za
