[Part 1] Understanding and Treating Real OCD with Berkeley Runia Paulsen

Our guide today, Berkeley Runia Paulsen, shares her personal experience with OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder), which began after the death of her brother when she was 11 years old.

Our conversation walks through the lonely nature of OCD, common yet widely unknown obsessions and compulsions, and Berkeley's journey through various treatments, including exposure response prevention (ERP) therapy.

We also learn about the heavy impact of OCD on daily life, the importance of cultivating uncertainty over "certainty" reassurances, and how family and caregivers can offer support.

Berkeley's story highlights how a brain and a person suffering from OCD can transform through very accessible and effective treatment processes.

There is a way out and we hope Berkeley's story delivers a lot of light to many who feel trapped in the dark spiraling tunnels of real OCD.

You and Us,

We got this.
