People pay more attention to what you do than what you say.

People pay more attention to what you do than what you say.

This is the golden rule of Credibility.
We often think that communication is about choosing the right words, crafting the perfect email, or giving an inspiring speech. But human beings are evolutionarily wired to detect patterns in behavior, not just syntax in language. We trust our eyes more than our ears.
If there is a discrepancy between your "audio" (what you say) and your "video" (what you do), people will always believe the video.
In Parenting: You can tell your children to read more, but if they only see you scrolling on your phone, they will scroll too. Children are mimics, not listeners.
In Leadership: You can preach about "work-life balance," but if you send emails at 2:00 AM, your team will burn themselves out trying to match your pace. Culture is defined by behavior, not by the mission statement on the wall.
Words are cheap because they cost nothing to produce. Actions are valuable because they require sacrifice and effort.
True influence isn't about being a great orator; it's about being a living example. When your actions consistently back up your words, you build trust. When they don't, you breed cynicism.
Where is the "signal interference" in your life right now? Is there an area where you are telling people (or yourself) one thing, but your daily habits are saying something completely different?
