231 – Chris Lambert: Being Held Accountable

231 – Chris Lambert: Being Held Accountable

A tripleheader of NASCAR Playoffs racing is in the books from Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Freddie Kraft returns from out west along with special guest, Cup race winning spotter Chris Lambert to breakdown all that unfolded from the weekend.

First, learn about Lambert’s background, how he took T.J. Majors’ job back in the day and his path to working with Denny Hamlin for the last decade. Plus, hear his take on why Sunday’s race at Las Vegas was such an important one to win.

Drama from Las Vegas started early as the Truck Series put on a show. Hear the gang react to Sheldon Creed and Chandler Smith’s crash and Creed saying he throttled up when the caution was displayed. NASCAR penalized Carson Hocevar later in the race for intentionally spinning to bring out a caution. Does this set a new precedent for penalties? The gang weighs in.

Daniel Hemric announced he’s headed to Kaulig Racing next year, on the same weekend where he became the driver with the most top-five finishes to never win a race in NASCAR history. Lambert shares his opinion on Hemric’s career and what he may lack compared to his competition.

On Sunday, Hendrick Motorsports looked primed for another standout performance. However, they may have shot themselves in the foot with pit strategy. Hear how they cost themselves the race and why it didn’t faze the No. 11 team one bit.

Kyle Busch was among the many drivers vocal about lapped cars on the radio during the Cup Series race. Hear Freddie explain why the problem isn’t getting any better and there’s again one team at the center of it. Lambert weighs in and discusses how much of an issue the slow cars have become.

Hamlin’s victory earns him a spot in the Round of 8 where he will look to make the Championship 4 for the second consecutive year. Is Hamlin better prepared for a title fight this year compared to last? His spotter tells us about the position the No. 11 team’s in and what Hamlin does that could make the difference.

Kevin Harvick didn’t stop playing head games with Chase Elliott at Las Vegas. Hear what Harvick compared Elliott to and why it undoubtedly will have Elliott think twice while racing around the No. 4 car.

Reports of what practice and qualifying will look like in 2022 surfaced last week and it has the crew concerned about how it will translate to the on-track product. Hear what to expect and some insight from the Next Gen test at Daytona.

In Reaction Theatre, DBC goes international with callers from across the pond, fans are still mad at Kevin Harvick, and Casey Boat is welcomed back with a nice message and a new song.
