244 - Atlanta: Safe but Sore

The Door Bumper Clear crew is back from Atlanta Motor Speedway and has much to say about its new "superspeedway" configuration. Brett Griffin, T.J. Majors and Freddie Kraft break down Atlanta’s new style of racing and how mile and a half tracks could be impacted moving forward.

In Spot On, Spot Off, the guys replay the final laps of Sunday's NASCAR Cup Series race and what led to William Byron’s first win of the season. Freddie shares insight into what went wrong for Bubba Wallace in the closing laps as he went from contending for victory to wrecking across the finish line.

Next, they talk about the tire failures that some race leaders experienced. Hear the gang explain potential causes and why failures aren't necessarily a bad thing.

Friend of the program, Kyle Busch, made comments on the balance between being a driver and entertainer after crashing out of Sunday's race. The guys discuss how this weekend's product flirts with that line and why NASCAR's initial attempt at creating this racing at intermediate tracks failed.

Hear what the crew has to say about Myatt Snider’s comments towards the driver that wrecked him late in the Xfinity Series race. Freddie expresses his frustration about why Snider needs to put action behind his words.

Did John Hunter Nemechek unfairly interfere with the outcome of the Truck Series race? The DBC guys debate the role of teammates in late race situations, when not all teammates are still competing for the victory.

Denny Hamlin tweeted comments regarding the effort of tracks to maintain their facilities and it sparked conversation about race tracks' responsibilities. The crew shares what's important for tracks to get right in order to create a positive fan experience.

Could NASCAR be playing favorites after announcing Hendrick Motorsports will field a modified Next Gen car in the 2023 24 Hours of Le Mans? Hear how one driver/owner from a different manufacturer reacted to the news.

In Reaction Theatre, we learn of more dead pets and Fred Griffin gets a touching tribute. Later, the crew previews what to expect as the Next Gen car makes its road course debut this weekend at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas.
