Periods, Hormones and Mental health

🎙️ Episode 19: Periods, Hormones & Mental Health

Periods are more than just a physical process they’re deeply connected to hormones, emotions, and mental wellbeing.

In this episode of Mind & Mic, we explore the relationship between menstrual health and mental health, especially within the university environment. Joining us is Adeshola from the College of Nursing Sciences, Bowen University, who breaks down the science behind hormones, PMS, PMDD, and their effects on mood and behaviour.

We also dive into research from around the world and Nigeria, discussing menstrual stigma, period poverty, student wellbeing, and why universities need to have more open conversations about menstrual health.

🎧 Listen, learn, and join the conversation.
