The Great Dating Divide: Has Social Media Changed Relationships?

The Great Dating Divide: Has Social Media Changed Relationships?

In this engaging episode of the Black Expats From All Over The World Podcast, I sit down with Alexus Wiley to discuss one of the most talked-about debates on social media today: modern dating, changing gender roles, and the growing divide between men and women.

Many women argue that traditional leadership roles within relationships have shifted, while many men believe women have become less traditional and more aggressive. The result is an ongoing conversation where both sides are asking: Are there still good men and good women out there?

Together, Alexus and I explore this topic from two different generational perspectives. As a Millennial who grew up before social media became a part of everyday life, I share my thoughts on how dating, communication, and relationships have evolved over the years. Alexus offers the perspective of Gen Z, discussing what dating looks like in a world shaped by social media, dating apps, and instant connectivity.

Join us as we compare experiences, challenge perspectives, and discuss how technology, culture, and changing expectations have transformed the dating landscape. From traditional courtship to modern-day dating apps, we examine whether social media has improved relationships—or created new challenges for men and women seeking meaningful connections.

Whether you're Gen X, Millennial, Gen Z, or somewhere in between, this is a conversation you won't want to miss.
