Democrats Demand Answers on Ghislaine Maxwell Prison Transfer (6/12/26)

House Democrats are demanding answers from the Justice Department and Bureau of Prisons over Ghislaine Maxwell’s transfer from FCI Tallahassee to the minimum-security Federal Prison Camp Bryan after her closed-door interview with Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche. Led by Rep. Democrats have also requested records and communications tied to the transfer, along with any transcript or recording of Maxwell’s DOJ interview, arguing that the timing creates the appearance of a possible political accommodation or effort to influence her cooperation. DOJ has acknowledged receiving the inquiry but has not publicly provided the full explanation Democrats are seeking.
