One Word from the Darkness | Real Ghost Stories

When two middle school friends decided to investigate a reportedly haunted Colorado farmhouse, they expected a fun afternoon inspired by the paranormal shows they loved watching. What they didn't expect was to stumble into a mystery that had lingered on the property for generations.

The nearly century-old home sat at the base of the Rocky Mountains and carried a local legend about a young man named Michael who vanished without explanation. Curious about the story, the girls set up a simple EVP session inside Michael's tiny basement room, tucked beneath a wide wooden staircase.

Nothing unusual happened that day.

But later that night, while reviewing the recordings alone, one of them heard something that sent popcorn flying across the room and triggered a frantic midnight phone call. Years later, one question still remains: was the mysterious response offering an explanation for Michael's disappearance—or was it a warning to stop asking questions?
