En: The flickering lights of the paper lanterns adorned the gated community of Santa Rosa.

Pb: Era noite de Festa Junina, e o frio do inverno não impedia a animação das crianças correndo pela praça.
En: It was Festa Junina night, and the winter chill didn't dampen the excitement of the children running through the square.

Pb: Mas algo estranho pairava no ar.
En: But something strange lingered in the air.

Pb: Lucas, um adolescente de 14 anos com olhos aguçados e mente curiosa, observava a festa do lado de fora.
