Bavarian Podcast Works Postgame Show: Talking points from Bayern Munich victory over VfL Bochum

Bavarian Podcast Works Postgame Show: Talking points from Bayern Munich victory over VfL Bochum

Bayern Munich scored seven goals on a gorgeous day in Munich (finally, a home game!), showcasing their talents out there and just having fun! The score at half time was 4-0 thanks to goals from Leroy Sané, Joshua Kimmich, Serge Gnabry and an own goal. The score-line gave Julian Nagelsmann the chance to rest Alphonso Davies and bring on Richards for his debut.Bayern added a fifth from Robert Lewandowski, a sixth from Joshua Kimmich and a seventh from Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting; Choupo’s goal was his 50th goal of his Bundesliga career, a milestone.Marcel Sabitzer and Bouna Sarr also got minutes on the pitch; Sabitzer hopefully might get a start against Greuther Fürth but, perhaps, Nagelsmann didn’t feel he was ready yet.Thomas Müller seemed to have scored an eighth; unfortunately, the goal wouldn’t stand because of VAR. A Müller goal would have been perfect to wrap up the day but it wasn’t to be today.Be sure to stay tuned to Bavarian Podcast Works for all of your up to date coverage on Bayern Munich and Germany. Bavarian Podcast Works Postgame Show: Talking points from Bayern Munich’s 3-0 win over FC Barcelona

Bavarian Podcast Works Postgame Show: Talking points from Bayern Munich’s 3-0 win over FC Barcelona

The Champions League is underway and Bayern Munich have started their campaign with a big win. Barcelona may not be what it used to be, but this 3-0 was more comfortable than most would’ve expected, given the fact that the game was played away at the Camp Nou, and Bayern had a grueling schedule coming into this one. Still, Nagelsmann’s boys dispatched their Catalan counterparts with relative ease, recording a precious clean sheet as well. Here are our talking points from the game:Dayot Upamecano and how Nagelsmann made the defense impregnable. How Nagelsmann made adjustments to counter Koeman’s 3-5-2.Analyzing how Bayern maintained the intensity while playing through fatigue. Why Jamal Musiala had an extremely tough time vs the Catalans. How Robert Lewandowski and Thomas Muller seem underutilized by Nagelsmann so far.Bayern’s midfielders had a bad time against Barca’s 3-5-2, and why Nagelsmann shares the blame.Barcelona fans are more than justified in their dislike of Ronald Koeman — his tactics were way too negative and he doesn’t seem to have a vision for the team.As always, we love your feedback and appreciate all the support!Be sure to stay tuned to Bavarian Podcast Works for all of your up to date coverage on Bayern Munich and Germany. Bavarian Podcast Works: Preview Show — Barcelona vs Bayern Munich

Bavarian Podcast Works: Preview Show — Barcelona vs Bayern Munich

Having just won a grueling game against RB Leipzig, Bayern Munich immediately travel to Spain to kick off their Champions League campaign against Barcelona. This is a very different Barca side from the one Bayern beat 8-2 last year. Leo Messi and Luis Suarez are no longer on the team, replaced by Memphis Depay and Luuk de Jong (more on him later). Here are our talking point ahead of the game:A basic rundown of Barcelona for a La Liga novice. How Koeman may line up his team in a 3-5-2 including which Barca players are fit/injured. Pros and cons of the 3-5-2. Discussing the threat of Memphis Depay. What a Barcelona team with a 4-2-3-1 can look like. How injuries could derail Bayern in this crucial game at the start of the season. Samrin exposing her opinions by saying Luuk de Jong is Barca’s most dangerous player (what???). A more sane pick for Barca’s potential dangerman. As always, we love your feedback and appreciate all the support!Be sure to stay tuned to Bavarian Podcast Works for all of your up to date coverage on Bayern Munich and Germany. Bavarian Podcast Works S4E6: Nagelsmann the genius, Bayern Munich’s best back-line, Sané remontada, and more!

Bayern Munich seem to be on a roll at the moment, having won their third Bundesliga game on the trot against none other than league contenders RB Leipzig. With that out of the way, the focus now shifts to the Champions League fixture against FC Barcelona, who would undoubtedly be looking to do some damage repair against the club that dismantled them just over a year ago. With the scene set for an exciting midweek, Tom and Schnitzel discuss:Bayern’s performance against LeipzigNagelsmann’s changes to this Bayern sideSabitzer’s debut and his role in the team moving forwardBayern’s situation in the defense (depth, contract situations, etc.)Leroy Sané’s resurgenceHow Bayern Munich and Beyoncé are linkedThoughts on the Barcelona gameLearn more about your ad choices. Bavarian Podcast Works Postgame Show: Talking points from Bayern Munich’s 4-1 win over RB Leipzig

Bayern Munich won and won in style against Red Bull Leipzig, beating them convincingly, 1-4. The victory was impressive for a variety of reasons, particularly who the opponents were; while Leipzig has not started the season particularly well, they still were the offensively better side in all their games, missing only the end product — that was not the case today and with better finishing from Robert Lewandowski of all people, Bayern could have scored more. For Leipzig, things are not coming together too smoothly under Jesse Marsch; his star striker, André Silva has not quite connected with the team yet and new signings such as Dominik Szoboszlai are settling in themselves.Stats:Total Shots: Leipzig 10, Bayern 14Shots on Goal: Leipzig 4, Bayern 7Possession: Leipzig 52.5, Bayern 47.5*Stats courtesy of whoscored.comFind any of the contributors on Twitter @BavarianFBWorks, @jeffersonfenner, @TheBarrelBlog, @TommyAdams71, and @bfwinnn.For the latest and greatest in football news, Bayern news, Germany news, and transfer rumors, be sure to visit www.bavarianfootballworks.com!Learn more about your ad choices.
