She’s Not Playing Games. She’s Playing a Role

The mixed signals, the inconsistency, the moments where what she says and what she seems to want are two completely different things… GOOD NEWS! That's not manipulation. In most cases, it's not even conscious. It's a woman navigating a set of contradictory instructions she was handed long before she ever met you, doing her best to connect while managing a script that makes genuine connection almost structurally impossible.

I'm sharing something I don't talk about often: my own version of this confusion, the relationships where I wanted exactly what I kept pushing away, and what it actually took to finally be ready for the love I said I wanted.

I also address a comment from a listener that I've been sitting with for some time, one that gets at something real and raw about the fear so many men are carrying right now around consent, connection, and whether it's even worth trying anymore. I'm not going to give you a tidy answer, because I don't think a tidy answer is honest. But I am going to give you something more useful than that.
