The Hard Truth About Family, Conflict and Self-Worth

The Hard Truth About Family, Conflict and Self-Worth

How do you let go of a parent who never became the person you needed, especially when they’re still alive?

In this listener-led episode of The Unbreakable Podcast, Kait Dinunzio is joined by Josie Cable, Grace Warren and the newest member of the Unbreakable team, Meg, for an honest conversation about healing the mother wound, overcoming imposter syndrome, recognizing your role in recurring conflict and understanding what healthy love actually looks like.

Kait draws from Unbreakable to explore a kind of grief that rarely gets acknowledged: grieving the possibility of a relationship you hoped would eventually become real. The team discusses acceptance without excusing harmful behaviour, communicating unmet needs, establishing boundaries and choosing how your experiences shape the person you become.

They also tackle some uncomfortable...but necessary questions:

- Why do successful people still feel like frauds?

- What if you’re the common denominator in your conflicts?

- Can you love someone while choosing distance?

- What does real, healthy love look like after the honeymoon phase?

- How do you stop comparing yourself to everyone else in the room?

The team also welcomes Meg to Unbreakable and introduces the upcoming Unbreakable Practice Lab, an experience exploring mindset, intentional goal-setting and the reticular activating system across different generations.
