Gazit Chaya Nkosi on Neurodivergence, Justice & LGBTQIA+ Identity

Gazit Chaya Nkosi on Neurodivergence, Justice & LGBTQIA+ Identity

Why are so many neurodivergent people driven by justice? Why is there such a strong overlap between neurodivergence and the LGBTQIA+ community? And what does it really mean to live authentically?

In this episode of AuDHD… And Then Some, I’m joined by Gazit Chaya Nkosi for one of my favourite conversations I’ve had on the podcast so far.

We explore the relationship between ADHD, autism (AuDHD), identity, justice sensitivity, authenticity, the nervous system, burnout, masking, and belonging. We also discuss why so many LGBTQIA+ people identify as neurodivergent, what it means to question cultural expectations, and how listening to your body can help you build a life that truly fits who you are.

This is a thoughtful, compassionate, and deeply honest conversation that covers:

* Justice sensitivity in neurodivergent people

* ADHD, autism and the drive for fairness

* Neurodivergence and the LGBTQIA+ community

* Queer and gender-expansive identity

* Masking and authenticity

* Nervous system regulation and burnout

* Living in alignment with your values instead of other people’s expectations

This episode genuinely became one of my favourites. I learned so much from Gazit, and I found myself completely absorbed in the conversation. Whether you’re neurodivergent, questioning your identity, supporting someone you love, or simply curious about the intersection of neurodiversity and gender, I think there’s something here for you.

If this episode resonates with you, please consider following AuDHD… And Then Some, leaving a rating or review, and sharing it with someone who might benefit from hearing this conversation.
