Killed on Her Wedding Day: The Murder of Dawn Walker | Ep. 266

Killed on Her Wedding Day: The Murder of Dawn Walker | Ep. 266

On October 27, 2021, 52-year-old Dawn Walker married the man she believed she would spend the rest of her life with. Friends and family watched the happy couple celebrate at a small wedding reception before they returned to their home in the West Yorkshire village of Lightcliffe. Just four days later, Dawn was reported missing by her new husband. Hours after that, her body was discovered hidden inside a suitcase less than 200 yards from the house where the newlyweds should have been starting their married life together.

What followed was one of the most disturbing murder investigations in recent history. As detectives began examining Dawn's final days, they uncovered a trail of lies, suspicious behaviour and carefully constructed deception that painted a very different picture to the one first presented. The case would expose a chilling sequence of events that began almost immediately after the wedding celebrations came to an end.

In this episode of British Murders with Stuart Blues, we examine the murder of Dawn Walker and the investigation that led to the conviction of her husband, Thomas Nutt. We explore Dawn's life, the wedding that should have marked a new beginning, the police investigation, the forensic evidence, the trial at Bradford Crown Court and the shocking details that emerged there. Along the way, we remember Dawn as the kind, caring grandma, mum and friend she was, ensuring that her story remains at the heart of this tragic case.
