Maks & Val: Mirrorballs, Motivation, and More!

To some, they’re Maks and Val from Dancing With The Stars; to Nikki & Brie, they’re friends.

This week, The Chmerkovskiy Brothers and The Garcia Twins sit down to talk about new adventures, growing up in the dance world, life away from DWTS, priorities as parents, the hustle, their current wine-tasting and dance project in Napa, Savor After Hours and you’ll get to see Nikki & Brie on stage with them over Labor Day weekend.

Maks and Val have an eight-year age difference; however, they have a lot of shared experiences growing up in Brooklyn, the hard work to succeed on the dance floor and their successes in ballroom dancing away from the cameras of Dancing With The Stars, what career paths they envision for their children, how their house was the social center of their friend groups and the longevity of performing on the dance floor as they move into new chapters of their careers.

Maks shares that one of his favorite moments performing is when his wife, Peta, surprised him with their son, Shai, on stage at Radio City Music Hall for a special moment on stage. Nikki is certain that she’d prefer Matteo to choose dance over wrestling but wants him to see her in the ring one last time before she officially retires, something that Birdie was able to experience with Brie.

Then Maks and Val play a friendly game of Most Likely as Nikki & Brie discover more similarities and differences between themselves and the Chmerkovskiy Brothers when it comes to sleep habits, paying for meals, collecting shoes, and being dramatic.

To close out the episode, Maks and Val share their Inspiration & Affirmations as they each share different nuggets of wisdom that have helped them not just in their careers but in life as well.
