Professor Nicola Maffulli is a world-famous Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and Honorary Professor for Sports and Exercise Medicine at Queen Mary University of London. His specialities include Sports Trauma Injury, Joint Replacement, Hand & Rheumatoid Surgery, & Adult & Paediatric Orthopaedics, the latter including Deformity Correction & the Management of Degenerative Joint Disease in young people.

He has an extensive background in research and has served on the editorial board for numerous journals including but not limited to: Bulletin of the Hospital for Joint Disease, Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy Review, Arthroscopy, Clinical Journal of Sports Medicine, British journal of Medicine, Techniques in Knee Surgery, Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery (British Volume), Foot and Ankle Surgery, and many more. He has also served as the Editor in Chief for numerous journals including but not limited to The Open Sports Medicine Journal, Muscles Ligaments and Tendons journal, and the Journal of Orthopaedic Surgery and Research.

Goal of episode: To understand how to shift through the orthopaedic literature, how to get started in research, and tips for when it comes to writing your own research manuscript.
