In den Kaçkar-Bergen in der Türkei gibt es einen besonderen Honig. Er heißt „Mad Honey“. Er kommt von Bienen, die Nektar von violetten Blumen sammeln. Diese Blumen enthalten ein natürliches Gift. Eine kleine Menge von diesem Honig kann den Körper beruhigen, aber wenn man zu viel davon isst, kann man Schwindel bekommen. Man kann sogar ernsthaft krank davon werden. Seit langer Zeit wird dieser Honig in der traditionellen Medizin verwendet. Auch heute nutzen Menschen ihn, zum Beispiel um den Blutdruck zu senken. Der Honig ist selten und teuer, da man ihn nur in der Türkei und in Nepal findet. Die reine Natur in den Kaçkar-Bergen verhilft dem Honig zu seiner sehr guten Qualität. Aber man muss vorsichtig sein. Experten warnen: Wer zu viel von diesem Honig isst, kann sich schnell schlecht fühlen oder krank werden.
