From live music and interactive art workshops to pop-up galleries, book launches, and community events, Basia is creating new spaces for artists and young people to connect, create, and experience something new. We’re talking about her work with libraries, bookstores, breweries, nonprofits, and the Patchogue Arts Council, including the 2025 PAC-MoCA Skate Festival, which brought roughly 500 people together.

We’re exploring Heckscher Park in Huntington Village, an 18-acre cultural and community gem featuring scenic walking paths, gardens, public art, a pond, and the Heckscher Museum of Art. With more than a century of history, the park is a beautiful reminder that some of Long Island’s best treasures are hiding in plain sight.

National Beach Day is August 30! We’re talking about enjoying Long Island’s beaches beyond the traditional summer season while keeping water safety top of mind. We’re looking ahead to Taylor Dayne’s hometown show at The Suffolk in Riverhead on September 17 and celebrating her Long Island roots, as well as the opening of Saylor Beach House in Greenport.

And Billy Joel’s early story is coming home to Long Island with the world premiere of 1971: Billy Joel’s Lost Interview at the LIMEHOF Music Documentary Film Festival in Stony Brook on September 25.
