4. Ben Giroux on Making Cool Sh*t with His Friends, the Power of “Lean Back” Energy, and How Authenticity Attracts Opportunity

I’m saying it here now… Ben Giroux needs to have his own Ted Talk.

Despite Ben Giroux (Actor, Voice Over Artist, Director, Writer, Great Human) having a successful and expansive career in the entertainment industry, he moves with the same excitement and passion as if he was just starting his journey.

Ben chatted with us about how he abandoned the notion that he “should just be an actor” and how helpful it was to diversify his interests and add “slashes” to his resume. He serves up his secret sauce and how “lean back energy” has been a key ingredient to his success. He reminded us all why it’s important to compartmentalize and go 200% at whatever it is you’re giving your time and energy. Truly….

This episode is one that’ll get you re-connected to your why and help you reframe your current creative process… and that’s all thanks to Ben.

We also discuss:

— The goal of aligning your internal and external experience as a performer

— There’s never a top of a mountain you reach in the entertainment industry

— How his goals have evolved as his career has evolved

— The lasting impression of Jerry Seinfeld being a jerk and his “no asshole” policy

— How he uses “yes, and…” improv rules in his everyday life

— The one thing we can count on is change

— Building real human connections is the foundation for opportunity
