Courageous Kindness

Courageous Kindness

Kindness without candor often leads to frustration at work and at home.

In this episode of EnRich Relationships, we dive into the concept of "courageous kindness" and why true encouragement requires both care and direct honesty. Drawing on Kim Scott's concept of ruinous empathy, we explore the tension between being supportive and holding people accountable, showing why direct feedback only works when built on a foundation of trust.

When we care enough to be honest, and build enough trust for that honesty to land as support, we create healthier communication, stronger teams, and deeper personal relationships.
