Because he was homeschooled and socially isolated, the extreme neglect went unnoticed by authorities until he was brought to a hospital weighing only 48 pounds. His tragic case resulted in a series of major criminal convictions and has triggered a sweeping state-level investigation. But as Maine residents, we have to ask ourselves...
