Ai and Robotics in Medicine

This week on PodcastDX, Dr. Sanjeev Kumar joins Lita, Ron, and Jean Marie to discuss AI and robotics in medicine—from surgical robots and rehabilitation technology to hospital automation, patient safety, and the importance of keeping human judgment at the center of care.

Dr. Sanjeev Kumar was the first surgeon to perform a robotic cervical cerclage in the city of Memphis on a outpatient basis leading to discharge of the patient on the same day. This operation was called as a breakthrough by the local media as it helped local people in Memphis to achieve the dreams of having a family. Before he performed this operation in Memphis community, the patients and their family had to travel far away in other cities to get this operation done. They will go to Chicago in the North and Dallas in the south. Once Dr. Kumar started performing these surgeries in the City of Memphis, the crucial and novel treatment could be provided in the the city itself, helping the local community.
