Ep # 149: A Cornucopia of History: The Minecraft Goat Horn

In this episode of Realm News, we journey into the fascinating world of goat horns, exploring their significance both in real life and within Minecraft. First, we dive into a community poll revealing that three-fourths of players rarely use goat horns, uncovering creative fan uses like redstone-powered doors and lore-based displays. We then traverse the storied history of horns, from the ancient Shofar and Viking war horns to their ceremonial, social, and musical roles across cultures. Finally, we venture into the Minecraft Realm to learn how to obtain and use goat horns, including the ill-fated Copper Horn experiment, and discuss why these overlooked items deserve more attention. Whether for decoration, lore, or practical communication, this episode celebrates the long legacy and untapped potential of the mighty horn.
