Story Transcript:

Ga: An oíche dorcha, bhí scamall trom ag clúdach Páirc Náisiúnta Chonamara.
En: On the dark night, a heavy cloud was covering Páirc Náisiúnta Chonamara.

Ga: Bhí duilliúr fiáin an fhómhair ag scaipeadh timpeall, ag cruthú áilleachta mhealltach.
En: The wild autumn foliage was swirling around, creating a captivating beauty.

Ga: Bhí grúpa turasóirí ag siúl tríd sásta leis an áilleacht nádúrtha.
En: A group of tourists was walking through, pleased with the natural beauty.

Ga: Ina measc bhí Eamon, treoraí nádúir ciúin ach é ag smaoineamh i gcónaí ar a rudaí féin.
En: Among them was Eamon, a quiet nature guide, always thinking of his own things.

Ga: Bhí Roisin lena thaobh, a chomhghleacaí agus cara maith, a bhí i gconaí cróga, ach cúramach.
En: Roisin was by his side, his colleague and good friend, always brave but cautious.

Ga: Thar an gcian, bhí Ciaran, turasóir mistéireach, ar chúl an ghrúpa, ag cailleadh isteach leis na scamaill agus smaointe dá chuid féin.
En: In the distance, there was Ciaran, a mysterious tourist, at the back of the group, fading into the clouds with thoughts of his own.

Ga: "Roisin, cá bhfuil Ciaran?
En: "Roisin, where is Ciaran?"

Ga: " a dúirt Eamon go tobann.
En: Eamon suddenly said.

Ga: Bhreathnaigh siad siar, ach ní raibh rian de Ciaran.
En: They looked back, but there was no sign of Ciaran.

Ga: Tháinig imní ar an ngrúpa nuair a tháinig ceo tiubh ó gach treo, solas ag laghdú go tapa.
En: Worry struck the group when thick fog came from every direction, the light quickly diminishing.

Ga: "Bhí sé anseo díreach anois," a dúirt Roisin, go héadrom, ach níor chreid sí go hiomlán go raibh Ciaran caillte go buan.
En: "He was just here," Roisin said lightly, but she didn't completely believe that Ciaran was lost for good.

Ga: Bhí a fhios aici go raibh éifeacht draíochta ag Conemara ar dhaoine.
En: She knew that Conemara had a magical effect on people.

Ga: Rinne Eamon iarracht fóin phóca a úsáid, ach bhí an comhartha lag.
En: Eamon tried to use mobile phones, but the signal was weak.

Ga: Thosaigh lucht an ghrúpa á bheith neirbhíseach go tapa.
En: The group quickly began to grow nervous.

Ga: "Caithfimid dul ar ais," a mhol Roisin, diongbháilte.
En: "We have to go back," suggested Roisin, resolutely.

Ga: "Bhuel," a dúirt Eamon, a fhios aige go mbeadh an turas gan chiall dá gcaillfidís duine ar bith.
En: "Well," said Eamon, knowing the trip would be pointless if they lost anyone.

Ga: Ach bhí rud éigin ag tochailt in aigne Eamon.
En: But something was nagging at the back of Eamon's mind.

Ga: Tharla sé go mb'fhearr a bheith ag smaoineamh ar Ciaran, go mbeadh sé ceart go leor.
En: It occurred to him to think that perhaps Ciaran would be alright.

Ga: Ní léirigh Ciaran riamh go raibh sé as a luí nó mearbhall.
En: Ciaran had never shown signs of being uneasy or confused.

Ga: Lean siad ar aghaidh ag cuardach.
En: They continued searching.

Ga: Bhí an ceo cosúil le éadach a chloígh le gach rud.
En: The fog was like a cloth clinging to everything.

Ga: Agus ansin, i measc na n-uisce beaga sleamhain, fuair Roisin rud éigin.
En: And then, among the small slippery waters, Roisin found something.

Ga: Litir!
En: A letter!

Ga: Bhí sé ann i bpluais bheag phioca mar a bheadh fostach.
En: It was there in a little hollow nook as if tucked away.

Ga: Scríobh Ciaran ar an bileog páipéir: "Táim ceart go leor.
En: Ciaran had written on a sheet of paper: "I'm okay.

Ga: Caithfidh mé éirí ar shiúl, ach tá áiteamh orm mo bealach féin a dhéanadh.
En: I have to go, but I feel compelled to make my own way."

Ga: "Bhí amhras ar Roisin.
En: Roisin was doubtful.

Ga: "B'fhéidir nach bhfuil gá dúinn leanúint ar aghaidh," a dúirt sí.
En: "Maybe we don't need to continue," she said.

Ga: D’fhéach Eamon ar an nóta.
En: Eamon looked at the note.

Ga: Bhí uaigneas agus tuiscint ann.
En: There was loneliness and understanding in it.

Ga: Bhí sé ag foghlaim go mb’fhéidir nár cheart iallach a chur ar dhuine a n-eachtra féin a chríochnú nuair a thuigfeadh siad a bealach féin.
En: He was learning that perhaps one shouldn't force someone to finish their own journey when they understand their own way.

Ga: "Sea, Roisin.
En: "Yes, Roisin.

Ga: Beidh sé ceart go leor," dúirt Eamon le gaoth áilleacht os a chionn.
En: He'll be alright," Eamon said with a gust of beauty above them.

Ga: Rinne siad an chinneadh dul ar ais ar an chosán.
En: They made the decision to head back on the path.

Ga: D'fhág siad a fhios gur mbeadh a dtríú cara, Ciaran, sábháilte, agus dó faoi chois, ag déanamh a bhealach féin tríd an cheo.
En: They left knowing that their third friend, Ciaran, would be safe, quietly making his own way through the fog.
