Off the Beaten Path: Sword in the Stone and Abbey of San Galgano

What's the point of living in Italy and having a podcast on traveling in Italy if we're never going to talk about Italian legends? That's right, today we're talking about the [somewhat] famous Sword in the Stone, merely 45 minutes away from Siena. Yes, it's an actual sword in the stone! And yes, we know who put it there! There's also the fairly strong theory that it influenced the story of King Arthur's Excalibur. We're also talking about the nearby Abbey of San Galgano, nearly a shell of the gothic abbey it once was, it sits now a beautiful ruin you can visit.
