About Our Guest:

LaVonne M. Chastain is the author of Get Up: The Story of One Woman’s Journey and the God Who Wouldn’t Let Go, a faith-centered memoir chronicling the extraordinary life of her cousin, Gaylynn Kapri. Drawing from decades of shared memories and deep personal connection, LaVonne tells a powerful story of trauma, devastating loss, stage-four colon cancer, and the unwavering presence of a God who never lets go. She writes with honesty, reverence, and a steadfast belief that no season of suffering is wasted in God’s hands.

Gaylynn Kapri is the woman behind the story—a stage-four colon cancer survivor whose life has been marked by resilience through childhood trauma, the heartbreaking loss of her daughter, and a life-threatening diagnosis. Known for her bold spirit and magnetic personality, Gaylynn’s journey is a testament to perseverance, faith, and the courage to keep going.

Together, they share a message of hope, reminding others that no matter how hard life hits, it’s never too late to rise again.
