🐌 The Giant Horse Conch... A Predator Racing Against Time

Beneath the warm, shallow waters of Florida and the Gulf of Mexico, an extraordinary predator moves across the seafloor at a snail’s pace.

The giant horse conch is the largest marine snail in the Atlantic, a brilliantly orange hunter capable of growing nearly two feet long. It tracks prey through invisible chemical trails, overpowers other giant snails with a muscular foot, and carries an enormous, spiraled shell that looks as though it must have taken a lifetime to build.

But that shell hides one of the most surprising stories in the ocean.
