Hamish Annan Before We Begin - A show about Consent

Hamish Annan is an award-winning theatremaker based in Auckland, New Zealand. He's known for his work as an actor, writer, voiceover artist, acting coach, and performance artist. His work explores human connection, joyful disruption, and emotional vulnerability. His latest work, Before We Begin, is a cheeky and interactive comedy about consent, queer intimacy and the awkwardness of getting close. Part live date, part social experiment, the show invites audiences into real-time flirting, connection and boundary-setting with plenty of laughs along the way. It premieres at Melbourne Fringe Festival from 7–11 October at the Quilt Room, Trades Hall. I ask all the questions about why cover the topic of consent and what to expect in the show. Hamish and Eden have a really great conversation all about consent. Hamish's previous show Access won the NZ Fringe Touring Award and was called "Breathtaking" by ArtsHub on its Melbourne season.
