Dr. Farah Kahn is an Allergist/Immunologist and an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and The Ohio State University College of Medicine. She completed her allergy and immunology fellowship in 2020 and began her career with a brief period in private practice. She now works in academic medicine, where she is passionate about both patient care and medical education. Dr. Kahn is married and the proud mother of a 6-year-old son.

In this episode, we sit down with Farah Kahn, a board-certified allergist and immunologist, to unpack the modern epidemic of allergies and what it reveals about our immune system and environment. Dr. Kahn breaks down the science behind food allergies, seasonal allergies, and chronic inflammatory conditions, offering clarity on how and why these conditions develop—and why they seem to be increasing.

We explore the connection between immune dysfunction, lifestyle, and environmental exposures, including how early-life factors, gut health, and daily habits shape allergic risk. Dr. Kahn also shares practical strategies for managing symptoms, improving immune resilience, and navigating common misconceptions around allergy testing, elimination diets, and treatment options.

Whether you’re dealing with allergies yourself or interested in optimizing your health, this conversation offers a grounded, evidence-based perspective on how to better understand—and work with—your immune system.
