The body of a young woman was found on November 16, 1969, off Mulholland Drive in Los Angeles, California, only a few short miles from where The Manson Family had murdered several people that summer. The woman had no ID and no significant identifying marks, and while the Los Angeles Police Department tried to discover her identity, they were unsuccessful. The woman was given the moniker Jane Doe 59. Jane Doe 59 and another woman, Marina Habe, whose body was found in January 1969, would be cold cases for the LAPD and would cause them to wonder if they were victims of The Manson Family or had met their ends via some other violent means. The kind stranger was Donald James Smith--who wasn't kind at all. He was a lifelong child predator, who fell through the cracks in the Florida prison system. A month prior, Donald was still in prison, but on that fateful day in June, he was out preying on another unsuspecting child. As the evening wore on, Cherish and her two little sisters grew hungry, and Donald offered to buy them cheeseburgers at the McDonald's that was inside Walmart. Donald and Cherish went to get the cheeseburgers, but instead, Donald led Cherish out of the store and she was never seen alive again. In 1974, Michael and Christine Taylor joined a "Charismatic Christianity" movement after Michael suffered from a debilitating back injury resulting in depression. An exorcism was performed on him overnight which allegedly cast out 40 demons. By the early morning hours, only three demons were left: insanity, murder, and violence. Those who performed the exorcism were too tired to cast out the remaining evil spirits and sent Michael home.
