Sleep Paralysis or Demonic Attachment? The True Cost of Using Black Magic

Hey everyone, welcome back to another episode of Hong Kong Horror! This week, we're heading over to mainland China for a seriously unsettling story about the true cost of greed. Imagine being stuck in a grueling, dead end job, and a stranger offers you a supernatural shortcut out of poverty...would you take it?Our main character, Elena, makes that exact choice. She receives a mysterious amulet that promises to change her life by using "borrowed fortune." And it works. A little too well. But as her wealth explodes and her business empire grows, she starts to notice a terrifying pattern... her success seems to only happen when tragedy strikes the people around her. And when she gets greedy and goes looking for more "luck"... things take a very dark, darkturn.Make sure you stick around after the story, because as always, we're going to break down exactly what happened from a Chinese cultural perspective. We'll be talking about the concept of 借福 (borrowed fortune), the Buddhist Three Poisons (Greed, Anger, and Ignorance), and the absolute nightmare that happens when you disturb the wrong resentful spirit.Turn down the lights, get comfortable, and let's get into it. Let me know in the comments what would you have done in Elena’s shoes?
