Biography Flash: Howard Sterns Kimmel Return Legal Appeal and Wack Pack Loss

Howard Stern Biography Flash a weekly Biography. Howard Stern’s most significant recent appearance came on Jimmy Kimmel Live, filmed in Brooklyn this week and reported by Hello Magazine and Yahoo Entertainment. It was Stern’s first late night television appearance in seven years, and it carried unusual biographical weight because he suggested it might be his last talk show appearance. Stern also discussed his eighteenth wedding anniversary with Beth, joked about romance, and appeared with her publicly in a rare show of unity after months of legal and professional drama. The Kimmel appearance also reignited Stern’s long running fascination with the private relationships behind show business. On his own SiriusXM program, Stern challenged Kimmel over his friendship with Jimmy Fallon, suggesting the relationship might be performative. OK Magazine reports that Kimmel rejected the theory and said he and Fallon planned to have dinner together. Stern also defended Kimmel against possible changes at ABC, warning the network would have hell to pay if it mishandled the late night host. That comment reflects Stern’s continuing role as both interviewer and public defender of longtime friends. SiriusXM confirmed that Kimmel returned to The Howard Stern Show on September 28, during Kimmel’s Brooklyn broadcasts from the Brooklyn Academy of Music. The appearance underscored the importance of Stern’s SiriusXM platform, particularly after reports that his program has been reduced to one new episode per week and that roughly a dozen staff members were laid off. SiriusXM continues to promote Stern as an exclusive flagship personality, but the reduced schedule may become an important chapter in his long term career story. Legal headlines returned this week. Page Six reports that former executive assistant Leslie Kuhn has appealed the dismissal of her lawsuit against Stern, Beth Stern, and related companies. The original case alleged a hostile work environment and disputes involving confidentiality agreements. The lawsuit was dismissed, but the appeal means the matter is not fully finished. These are allegations, not findings of wrongdoing. Another emotionally significant development involves Ronnie Benjamin, known to Stern listeners as Big Black, a member of the Wack Pack. PennLive and TMZ report that Benjamin died at 64. TMZ says a friend described him as unusually cheerful shortly before his death and reported arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease as the cause. Stern has not publicly commented, and any suggestion of an upcoming tribute remains unconfirmed. There are also reports that Stern discussed backlash over Sydney Sweeney’s sports betting advertisement, but the story appears less consequential than his television return, changing SiriusXM format, legal appeal, and the death of a notable Wack Pack figure.
