Teen Executed His Family Over Sleepover with Girlfriend

An Indiana jury has convicted Raymond Childs III of six counts of murder and additional charges for killing his father, stepmother, siblings, and pregnant step-sister following a dispute over leaving his girlfriend's house without permission in January 2021. The defendant's 15-year-old brother, XC, miraculously survived gunshot wounds to the arm and leg, escaping to a neighbor's home and providing critical firsthand testimony that helped prosecutors establish the timeline of the attack. Although a previous mistrial occurred due to a witness outburst, the second trial yielded a swift guilty verdict supported by robust physical evidence, including two recovered firearms and statements from the victims. Legal experts analyze the senseless nature of the crimes and anticipate that the judge will impose the maximum consecutive sentence without the possibility of early release given the extreme severity of the offenses.
