Ep. 137 | Daniel LaPlante: Killer in the Walls

Ep. 137 | Daniel LaPlante: Killer in the Walls

In the fall of 1986, in a small town on the Massachusetts and New Hampshire line, two sisters were learning how to live in a house without their mother, who had recently passed. Their father worked late. The evenings were long. And one night, as the story is often told, the girls went down to the basement and held a seance, in a desparate attempt to reach their late mother.

They didn't get much of response that night, but in the following days, the walls started answering.

First it was knocking. Then banging. Then things going missing. Furniture sat an inch from where it belonged. And then the messages came, scrawled across the walls in what looked like blood. One of them read: "I'm in your room. Come and find me."

The Bowen family was haunted. But not by their mother, and not by a ghost. What was within the walls of the Bowen home was something far worse: a killer, who was only getting started. Before it was over, it would take the lives of Priscilla Gustafson, her two young children, Abby and Billy, and the baby she was carrying.
