EP225 - THE LIFE BEHIND THE WORD

EP225 - THE LIFE BEHIND THE WORD

The Life Behind the Word explores how the people we meet today may know the life we're living, but not the life we're carrying. After meeting a woman who deliberately described herself as a “remarried widow,” Tim reflects on the importance of honoring the relationships, experiences, and losses that remain part of our identity even as life continues. From the familiar words widow and widower to the many forms of loss that have no widely recognized name, this episode considers how little our outward appearance or everyday descriptions reveal about the stories that shaped us. Whether we've lost a spouse, child, parent, sibling, or friend, the life we shared with that person remains part of who we are. And moving forward doesn't require us to erase the chapters that came before. An honest conversation for those grieving and those supporting them about identity, remembrance, and the life behind the words we use to describe ourselves.
