On the early morning of November 13, 2022, four University of Idaho students settled down in their beds after a night out. Ethan Chapin, Xana Kernodle, Kaylee Goncalves, and Madison Mogen never awoke to have breakfast together that morning, as expected. Sometime after 4 AM, an intruder entered the house on King Road and murdered all four University of Idaho students, and then vanished. Seven weeks later, authorities arrested 28-year-old Bryan Kohberger. The internet and social media were set ablaze with people feverishly commenting on the case. A character actor who appeared in over 100 films and TV shows between the early 60s and late 80s, Robert Sorrells made a living playing bit parts in big productions: classics like Gunsmoke, Bonanza, The Twilight Zone. No matter the plot, the roles typically ended the same for Sorrells―with his character either firing a bullet, or taking one himself. His early filmography reads like an advertisement for the NRA: Gunfight in Abilene, Mosby’s Marauders, Death of a Gunfighter, The Ride to Hangman’s Tree. In a disturbing case of life imitating art, Sorrells, at the age of 74, gunned down two men at a bar near his home in Simi Valley, California, killing one and badly wounding the other. His victim: A 45-year-old painting contractor and father of one. The shocking July 2004 murder shined a spotlight on the psychology of aging actors, and begged the question: did a lifetime of being around fake movie violence make Sorrells more inclined to commit the real-life kind? We're bringing back a very important episode about first grader Gabriel Fernandez. His mother, Pearl Fernandez, was an unfit parent, completely detached from her children …especially Gabriel. Plain and simple, she despised her young son and put him through years of neglect and abuse. Pearl’s boyfriend took part in the abuse …until it escalated to a point at which young Gabriel’s body had sustained all it could take. There were multiple cries for help, multiple red flags and blatant signs, and multiple reports of abuse. Still, young Gabriel lost his life at the hands of people who should have loved and protected him. Gabriel was murdered, and it could have been prevented. This is part of Gabriel’s story.
