The Buck Family and Linda Dearth Murders

The Buck Family and Linda Dearth Murders

In January 1973, in the span of fewer than two weeks, four murders rocked two normally peaceful townships north of Dayton, Ohio. Three members of the Buck family were murdered in their home. And then just 13 days later, 13-year-old Linda Dearth was murdered in her home on a day off from school. Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss the details of these brutal murders. Police quickly zeroed in the Buck family's 17-year-old babysitter for their murders. But, most involved questioned that possibility, especially after Linda's murder was connected to the murder of the Buck family. The babysitter had already been detained by the time Linda was murdered. Did police handle these investigations correctly? Or, did they get tunnel vision and try to make the puzzle pieces fit to try a 17-year-old girl for murder? The Ringheim and Walker Murders

The Ringheim and Walker Murders

We're discussing two separate unsolved murders cases in this episode. In 1986, 41-year-old Harve Ringheim and his 29-year-old wife Keiko were found murdered inside their home. They had been bound and tortured before they were killed. In 1968, 5 members of the Walker family died in a fire at their home that was determined to be arson. Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss these two tragic unsolved cases which involved many unanswered questions. Why were the Ringheims tortured before they were killed? What was someone after that they needed to torture this couple to get? In the Walker arson case, who would have wanted to burn the family home down and did know that at the time there were five Walker children inside? Or, was this a mistake, with the real target living a few doors down from the Walkers? The Coulthurst Family Massacre

The Coulthurst Family Massacre

The Coulthurst family lived in Washington state and came from a long line of fisherman. In 1982, John and Sally Coulthurst purchased an $800,000 fishing boat that was anchored in Craig, Alaska. But, things turned tragic as the season ended, all 8 aboard the vessel were killed and the ship was set on fire. Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss the horrific and mysterious Coulthurst family massacre. Eyewitnesses said they saw someone driving the boat's skiff back to the beach. Police zeroed in on a suspect that matched the description of the eyewitnesses. Prosecutors tried twice to convict John Peel but were unsuccessful. Did John Peel kill 8 people and burn up the boat to destroy evidence? If not, who would have wanted the Coulthurst's and their crew dead?  You can support the show at patreon.com/truecrimeallthetime Visit the show's website at truecrimeallthetime.com for contact, merchandise and donation information An Emash Digital Production See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Ken McElroy

Ken McElroy

Ken McElroy was seen as the Skidmore, Missouri town bully. He had been in trouble most of his life but had always managed to work his way out of it. Normally, that was by intimidating victims and witnesses or by paying them off with money earned from selling livestock he'd stolen. One day in 1981, a large number of residents in the town decided that they'd had enough and Ken was shot and killed. Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss the life, crimes, and murder of Ken McElroy. Ken was a different type of victim than most that we profile. He was not universally loved and, in fact, was generally hated by most that knew him. And when three shots were fired at Ken, killing him inside his truck, not a single person from the large crowd that witnessed it was willing to say who was responsible.  You can help support the show at patreon.com/truecrimeallthetime Visit the show's website at truecrimeallthetime.com for contact, merchandise and donation information   An Emash Digital Production See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
