Mini Mile #2 - Pets, Prints, Peter Sutcliffe and Self-Pleasure

This is Mini Mile, a weekly compendium of UK true-crime facts and trivia designed to accompany Murder Mile True-Crime Podcast and to entertain and inform you whilst your host (Michael) is writing and researching the next multi-part series of Murder Mile which returns in May 2019.

In Mini Mile #2 we’ll ask which infamous murderers loved their pets, we’ll investigate fingerprint powder, we’ll redefine serial killing, we’ll take a ride on London’s long forgotten railway of death, I’ll read you a particularly dull letter written by the Yorkshire Ripper and we’ll investigate the untold story of Soho’s Death Angel.

Murder Mile is researched, written and performed by Michael J Buchanan-Dunne of Murder Mile Walks with music written and performed by Erik Stein and Jon Boux of Cult With No Name with additional music by Kevin MacLeod and Chris Zabriski, as used under the Creative Commons License 4.0 (Attribution) via Free Music Archive. #207 - A Jealous Streak. On Wednesday 21st December 1853, 27 year old Hannah Heisse, a married mother-of-one gave birth to a baby daughter, later to be joined by her husband, a 34 year old tin plate worker called Bertolt Heisse. For three days, being cared for by Bertolt and her mother, Hannah rested as this prolonged birth had left her weak. It should have been the start of a new life for this beautiful little family. But owing to a little thing called jealousy, on Saturday 24th December 1853 (Christmas Eve), Bertolt (her loving husband) would unleash a bloody massacre and destroy this whole family forever.
