Australian team for World Cross Championships announced for Belgrade, Serbia held Saturday 30th March. The team notably will field full teams except for the Open Women’s Team which will only feature Paige Campbell and Melissa Duncan from winning the trials at Stromlo, as well as the fact that competing and representing Australia will come at the expense of the athlete. Other featured athletes will include Pat Tiernan, as well as trials winners Haftu Strintzos and Liam Adams. Notable Australian performances in the NCAA Indoor Championships included Ky Robinson representing Stanford running 13:27.79 for 3rd place in the 5000m final and 7:46.13 for 5th place in the 3000m, both won by Nico Young for Northern Arizona. Adam Spencer for Wisconsin produced a kick to come second in the Mile in 4:01.92, just behind winner Luke Houser of Washington, while Hayley Kitching came 4th in the 800m in 2:02.16 representing Penn State. Matt Clarke also in the second heat ran 8:46.23. Men’s Steeplechase Heat 2 (Ed Trippas) Men’s Steeplechase Heat 3 (Ben Buckingham, Matt Clarke)   Women’s 800m heats Morgan Mitchell ran 2:05.44 to place sixth in the first heat, while Catriona Bisset ran 2:01.65 for fifth place in the fifth heat.
