Episode 68: The Importance of Self-Care & Mindfulness Work as a Social Worker

During this podcast episode, I get a chance to talk with Rosa Jaffe-Geffner, a licensed social worker in New York City. Rose shares insights about how she learned about self-care later in life as an adult, and how 2020 was the year she finally got herself to commit to a daily mindfulness and meditation practice. Rose shares how she uses self-care to be conscious about when she is "tapping into" life instead of practicing avoidance. We also touched on how you can practice self-care when your basic needs are not being met and the consistent discipline that self-care requires in our modern day capitalist world.
