INTERVIEW: Ex-police officer speaks on prosecuting paedophiles

INTERVIEW: Ex-police officer speaks on prosecuting paedophiles

Child abuse is one of the most horrific crimes that can be committed, and the people who are tasked with investigating and prosecuting it face enormous challenges and risks. In this episode of the Jeremy Indika Podcast, Jeremy speaks with Mike Brewer, who is a retired detective sergeant and who has had experience dealing with child abuse cases, especially those involving paedophiles. Mike shares his insights on the nature and extent of this problem, the difficulties in gathering evidence and bringing perpetrators to justice, and the emotional and psychological impact of his work on himself and his colleagues. He also discusses the importance of raising awareness and educating the public about this issue, and how they can help prevent and report child abuse. As much as we, the public, tend to quickly judge police officers and the work they do, especially when we feel that it isn't good enough, it is important to understand that at the end of the day, they are human and it takes a lot to do this kind of job. This is a grippingly powerful and eye-opening conversation that will make you appreciate the courage and dedication of those who protect our children from harm. Don’t miss this episode.

Are trigger warnings a help or hindrance? What do you think?

I believe there are two ways to look at this and it can be debated from both sides. What’s your opinion on trigger warnings?Let me explain mine and see what you think (please remember, even if we disagree on this, we’re still on the same team). Let’s have a conversation about it. A 19-year old on a 12-year old is okay? This woman thinks it is

“It sounds like more of an inappropriate holiday romance thing” were her words. I don’t know whether you know about this story, but in summary, there’s a Dutch Olympian, Steven van de Velde, who is a convicted child rapist and has been allowed to compete in the olympics - and there’s uproar about it.But this woman doesn’t see it like that and has gone onto national TV to say that the 12-year old girl met him on her own freewill, so there’s no grooming, it’s not rape and essentially, she consented to it. I don’t know whether she has a daughter herself, but I wonder if she has, whether she’d be saying the same if it happened to her? There are MANY other worrying things in this interview.Below are my links Website: https://jeremyindika.comPodcast: https://shows.acast.com/the-something-to-say-podcastSomething to Say: https://somethingtosayofficial.comTo supportMerchandise: https://somethingtosayofficial.comPatreon: https://www.patreon.com/SomethingtoSayDonate: https://jeremyindika.com/donate/Social mediaInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/jeremyindika/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/jeremyindika1X: https://x.com/jeremyindikaTiktok: https://www.tiktok.com/@jeremyindikaLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jeremy-indika-31673573/YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@JeremyIndikaPodcast: https://shows.acast.com/the-something-to-say-podcastSomething to Say linksInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/somethingtosayofficial/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/somethingtosayofficial1LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/something-to-say1TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@somethingtosayofficialYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@SomethingtoSayofficialPodcast: https://shows.acast.com/the-something-to-say-podcast-1 Hosted on Acast. If I can turn this subject into something that people become interested in, rather than it being so uncomfortable that they turn away, we can make one massive step towards prevention as we get people talking/raising the awareness. Three 19-year old boys took photos as they abused Annie and threatened to post them if she didn’t keep meeting up with them. So she did. And they posted them anyway. For those that missed the LIVE Q&A and catch up last week, I’ve recorded it and released it as a podcast episode. It went really well, we talked about the latest updates, a couple of things about my personal life and some new announcements on future plans. I will be doing more of these so we can all get together in the live environment and chat.My links Website: https://jeremyindika.comPodcast: https://shows.acast.com/the-something-to-say-podcastSomething to Say: https://somethingtosayofficial.comTo supportMerchandise: https://somethingtosayofficial.comPatreon: https://www.patreon.com/SomethingtoSayDonate: https://jeremyindika.com/donate/Social mediaInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/jeremyindika/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/jeremyindika1Twitter: https://twitter.com/jeremyindikaTiktok: https://www.tiktok.com/@jeremyindikaLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jeremy-indika-31673573/YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@JeremyIndikaPodcast: https://shows.acast.com/the-something-to-say-podcastSomething to Say social mediaInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/somethingtosayofficial/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/somethingtosayofficial1LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/something-to-say1Twitter: https://twitter.com/sts_official_1TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@somethingtosayofficialYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@SomethingtoSayofficialPodcast: https://shows.acast.com/the-something-to-say-podcast-1 Hosted on Acast. Sex Education to be banned in schools | Has the government gone mad?

Sex Education to be banned in schools | Has the government gone mad?

Has the government gone mad? They intend to pass new guidance which includes the following,• NO MORE education on sexual harassment to be taught before ages 11 (even though these children spend their life online)• NO MORE discussion on sex before the age of 13 (even though some will have already done it and/or be watching hours of it on pornography sites)So, we’re now leaving young people to navigate these situations on their own, instead of educating and empowering them to make informed and safe decisions? What is this madness?!Links mentioned in the podcast:1.
