Who's protecting children when they're online | What are we going to do about this?

Can you guess what the three situations below have in common?

1.⁠ ⁠On a tablet watching YouTube

2.⁠ ⁠Playing the Xbox on live

3.⁠ ⁠In a WhatsApp group

The answer is…we are not there.

So, if something pops up, like a message from someone suggesting something sexual, or a link that’s about something they like, but when you click, it goes to something else - maybe for something sexual - we are not there to intervene.

And with thes online, being part of our culturespace being, we need to move with the times and figure out the best ways to handle this.

That’s why I’ve brought Richard Pomfrett onto my podcast, who speaks to parents, teenagers and children on this topic and has valuable advice to give us.
