Can Wrexham make it four promotions in a row?
Ian Hunt joins Iwan Roberts and Sam Vokes to review the opening weekend and preview the start of the Championship season. A youthful Cardiff City side made a winning start to their League One campaign as they beat Peterborough United at home 2-1 with both goals coming from academy products. Newport County drew 1-1 at home to Notts County in their League Two opener in a match which was delayed for an hour due to a medical emergency at the ground. Wrexham and Swansea City kick off their Championship campaigns this weekend. It's been a busy week for Wrexham who've completed the signings of England centre-back Conor Coady and Wales striker Kieffer Moore ahead of their opener away to Southampton. Meanwhile, Swansea travel to Middlesbrough as Alan Sheehan begins his first full season as head coach.

New season, new managers... new hope?
It's the beginning of a new era at Cardiff City and Newport County as both clubs prepare for life under new, and inexperienced, managers. The Bluebirds, playing in the third level of English football for the first time in 21 years, have opted for the blue side of Manchester by appointing for former Manchester City youth coach Brian Barry-Murphy. The Exiles, meanwhile, have gone for the red side by choosing former Manchester United youth coach Dave Hughes. Both clubs have ample room for improvement after hugely disappointing performances last season. But is there room for optimism this season?Wrexham and Swansea have another week's preparation for the start of the Championship season - and both have been making plenty of headlines over the summer. The Dragons have showed their promotion intent again with some eye-catching signings, and they're not finished yet. The Swans took everyone by surprise with the announcement that Snoop Dogg has become a co-owner as an investor. It's building up nicely to be another fascinating season for Welsh football.

11 hours after getting back to the Wales team hotel, Wales players Lois Joel and Ella Powell have their lie-ins curtailed to speak to the media at an eerily quiet training base in Weinfelden. France beat Wales 4-1 to all but dump Wales out of Euro 2025, but history was made as Jess Fishlock scored the Wales women's first ever goal in a major international tournament. A scare for the Wales squad as their team bus is involved in a collision on the way to Arena St Gallen ahead of their training session the day before they face France.
